According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is releasing yet another interesting update that will enable users to move chats from one device to another without needing Google Drive.
The new function known as “chat transfer” is currently accessible to a small number of beta testers and will be made available to more users in the upcoming weeks, claims the app-tracking website.
If users wish to move their chat history to a different new Android device, they won’t need to back it up to Google Drive thanks to this functionality.
Within WhatsApp Settings > Chats, you can find the option to transfer conversations. You must scan the QR code after choosing your options in order to start the process of transferring your conversation history to a new phone.

By using this function, users may transfer their chats quickly and easily since they are not need to manually back them up to Google Drive, which takes time.
According to the WhatsApp tracker, “by scanning the QR code, users can easily migrate their chat history from their old Android device to a new Android device without having to go through the backup and restore process.”
