Pakistan became only the third side, after Australia and India, to reach this milestone, winning their 500th ODI match.

On Thursday (April 27), the Pakistani men’s cricket team celebrated a historic victory after defeating New Zealand by five wickets in the opening One-Day International of a five-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Pakistan achieved the target of 289 runs in 48.3 overs, thanks to opening batsman Fakhar Zaman’s outstanding 117 runs from 114 balls, giving the Babar Azam-led team a 1-0 series lead. Imam-ul-Haq, the team’s opening partner, provided 60 runs from 65 balls, Babar scored 49 runs from 46 balls, and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 42 runs from 34 balls while remaining unbeaten.
